I know this is an old post and I know Krishna Narayan has been dead for a while, but I just love this wallpaper so much I thought I’d throw it out here. Krishna Narayan’s image has been floating around my mind for ages. I was in an art class when I realized this image was related to the concept of memory, and I knew this meant he’d be involved in a project I was working on. I’m pretty sure I was the only kid in the whole class who knew about Krishna Narayan’s death.
The project I was working on was called ‘wallpaper’ and it centered around the idea of having a way for people to remember their personal memories. It was basically a photo-album that could be customized with the most random color tones you could imagine, and if you were a little obsessive, you could put a picture of Krishna himself in each photo. There was also a ‘wallpaper’ app that you could create that would allow you to add as many personalized walls as you had memories to.
Krishna, however, seems to have no memories of his past so we’ll have to come up with a way to show him in his own portrait. In the meantime, I’ve been working on a wallpaper where he’s holding a guitar. It could be an interesting project to get it to be a part of your wall though.
The wallpaper app that we used for Krishna’s wall was easy to set up, but the process was a little clunky. It took a lot of time to upload pictures to Facebook, and to make a wall of photos. What we really needed was a way to make Krishna look like a wall.

This is what has me thinking a lot. It seems that the best way to create a new photo is to change the wallpaper. I think that’s one of the most efficient ways to make a photo look as beautiful as it could. It’s also one of the things that I really like about the app.
A quick look at the developer’s blog leads me to believe that Krishna’s new wallpaper is a mix of the original and a wallpaper you get from the phone you’ve downloaded from the app. I mean, the original wallpaper is more of a “welcome to the new wallpaper…” thing, but the new one is really more of a wallpaper you’d expect on a phone, not a wallpaper that everyone would like.
