But the company seems to have gotten past that, as it recently sold its Whole Foods division. This is a good move because Dollar General’s whole family of grocery stores isn’t huge, so Dollar General is more in-line with the kind of chain you’d find in any big chain.
So the company plans to open up a new supermarket in the next year or so which will have a variety of food choices for those who dont want to go to the expensive Dollar General stores. This is good news for those of us who are in the process of moving out of our big, chain, grocery stores.
That said, Dollar General isnt the only company to come out with a new supermarket. Theyve also started a new company called Fresh, but Fresh isnt all about food. They are also starting to sell a lot of other products that we may not be interested in, so this is a good move for Dollar General.
