What Kind of Names to Expect When You’re an Aasimar

Every child’s birth is an opportunity to leave a mark on the world, and one of the most important decisions you’ll make when naming your child is whether they will be raised with their true name or not.

If you’re reading this, then it might mean that you are considering raising your Aasimar (or other celestial creature) as an adventurer in the mortal realm. If so, congratulations! But what kind of names should you expect?

In this blog post we explore some wonderful celestial-sounding names for all sorts of adventures.

Aasimar Names

Names of angels.

Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel. These are all names taken from archangels in various religions and folklore that can inspire your child to take the path of righteousness!

These names for those who will change the world for better. Some aasimar even have their own mythological legends about them in Aasimar mythology.

Earthly Names

Names of mortals. These are the human (or other) names that our Aasimar may or not have been given at birth, depending on whether he was raised with them as his true name or if they were just a nickname-type thing picked by friends and family because it sounded cute. From heroes in ancient tales to modern celebrities to those who show us what humans can be, these are some good starting points for anyone looking for an Earthly sounding name: Clark Kent, Louis Armstrong, Princess Diana.

The possibilities really only end when you find your own!

Now that we have gone through the ways an Aasimar’s name can come about, what is his connection with a god? That will be up next!

*”Who are these people?” you may ask yourself while reading this, and I’m glad to tell you: We’re talking about humans who happen to have Celestial blood in their veins. These beings are called either aasimars (or good-aligned outsiders) or tieflings (or evil-aligned outsiders). People born of such heritage typically find themselves drawn toward one alignment or another during adolescence if not The majority of individuals with blessed ancestry will share some traits from both worlds.

*These celestials are always born from a union between one of the gods and a mortal. As such, it is said that an Aasimar’s destiny is often predetermined by his or her divine parentage.

*Aasimars usually inherit two opposing traits from their celestial parents: One good trait which they share with their godly kin; while another evil trait which they inherited from the other side of their heritage (their mortal parent). Tieflings will often follow this same pattern but in reverse order, sharing only one desirable quality with either deity responsible for producing them.

*An Aasmir may take on certain qualities like clumsiness due to its connection with mischief being a thing of wonder and awe, there will always be one big bad wolf who comes to spoil the lives of those good little boys and girls.

*Aasimar names are usually based on the celestial parent, but at times those who have a Tiefling heritage may take on a name of their own choosing.
