“For those of you who are interested in the Indian spiritual tradition this year, the annual meeting of the Vedic Society of Bengal is being held at the Kolkata from 20th to 22nd December. It has been organised by the Bengali Vedic Society as a way of honouring the great Vedic scholars and religious thinkers of India and also to welcome them to Kolkata.

Gaudapada was a great man. He spent a lifetime in prison for his role in the movement to teach Vedic philosophy to the British. He was assassinated in 1881. He was a highly respected Vedas Vedic society leader. He was a great example of a great leader. But sadly, after all of his work, he was not given a chance to live out the rest of his life.
