A lot of people have a strong aversion to the word PMAY because it makes them think of a job application. I completely agree with that. In reality, it is an acronym that stands for “Permanent. Means. Able. You.” This is a great thing because it is the first level of self-awareness. You can always go back and change it, but you can always say, “I can’t say that now because it is a permanent thing.

PMAY stands for Permanently. Able. You. Again, this is a great thing. If you think about it, the ability to go back and change something you cannot change is a great idea. When we are PMAY, we are not only able to be aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions but we are also able to think critically about those. Thinking critically is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

One of the best ways to think critically is to look at the big picture. If you are PMAY, then you can be aware of your thinking and be in a position to make decisions that you cannot make otherwise. In life we often have the idea that the only way to think is to be a linear thinker. We may not realize that we are living in a world of infinite possibilities. Our thinking may not be linear, but it is always in the context of the big picture.

FTO tracking is very similar to PMAY, except that instead of being aware of the big picture, we’re aware of the present. It means looking not only in the direction of future events, but also in the direction of the present event. In PMAY, you can focus your attention on the “big picture” but also on the present. PMAY is a way to be more aware of the big picture and less aware of the present.
