We’re no longer confined to a desk with a keyboard and a monitor. We can now multitask with computers, tablets, and smartphones. Whether it’s typing on a tablet to respond to a text or taking a photo with a camera phone to edit a photo, all of these devices have the potential to be a distraction and a distraction leads to a distraction.
I wonder if the same thing is true for computer operators. In many cases we sit at a terminal and type away, but it’s not like you can just sit there typing for hours. Your fingers are already busy, and sometimes you’re just not paying attention to what’s going on around you.
The best thing to do is to plan your day, get up and get started, and do something productive that doesn’t involve your hands. If you have to do things with your hands, I would suggest you sit down at your terminal and use a mouse to do the bulk of the work and then you can go back to what you were doing with your eyes.
I would suggest that if you ever plan to work with computers and have to work on them at a certain time, you pick a time to sit down and learn how to use a computer. You could start with using the basic commands, like pressing the Enter key and typing the beginning of the program name. Or you could practice using the keyboard shortcuts, like pressing the space bar to scroll forward and the CTRL key to scroll back.
There is a lot more to this than you may realize. The keystroke sequence is more important than the speed of my computer’s keyboard. The keystroke sequence needs to be programmed with a specific sequence of characters. The keystroke sequence needs to be programmed with a specific sequence of words, like “to”, “to the end”, “to the end of the program”, and so on.
Some programs, like Windows, require a specific character sequence to get things started, and some programs, like the Windows keyboard, require a particular word sequence to get things started. The keystroke sequence, however, is just another keyboard shortcut. There is nothing to it.
The keystroke sequence is a good way to learn which way to look at it. It allows you to move the keystroke into the key, and so on. There’s only so much to learn. It takes you a little while to master the keystrokes, and then you’re in a position to master the keystroke sequence. It’s not the same as learning all of the characters. In fact, it’s actually quite good.
The actual sequence is quite easy, but its not so much the keyboard shortcuts that make it good. Learning how to use them will make you a better person, because it makes you a better code writer, because it makes you a better editor, because it makes you a better human being. Its the keyboard shortcuts that make it good.
The main reason people don’t use the keyboard shortcuts is because it’s easier to write code and then do the work.
Computer operator experience certificates are really useful. You can go to any college or university and get a certificate for the ability to do a specific task. You can get a similar certificate for coding a program, or for the act of writing a program. You can get a similar certificate for doing any of the things we do as programmers. They are useful because they show just how capable you are of doing any task that you set.
