It’s probably impossible for me to know any better than the people in my own head, but the way I see myself in the mirror is so very different from how I see others. I am so much more aware of my appearance than I have ever been. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more aware of my body, and that’s probably because I’ve spent so much time trying to improve how I see myself.

In the ’90s, in every mirror I used to see myself in, I’d see a fat ugly face staring back at me. People would say, “That’s not who you are. You look just like everyone else.” And I’d say, “It’s not just anyone. I look better than anyone else, but everyone else is just like me.

I am the type of person who will organize my entire home (including closets) based on what I need for vacation. Making sure that all vital supplies are in one place, even if it means putting them into a carry-on and checking out early from work so as not to miss any flights!
